Italian Maserati Arrives In Mumbai

The luxury car segment in India is getting another contender with the arrival of the Italian sports car company Maserati at Rs1.20 crore –Rs1.43 crore. The company"s MD for Asia Pacific said the entry has been adduced to the growth rate of luxury car segment in the country with 70% (15000 units in the last year). He said the company will roll down all its premium models in the country for the local customers.

The cars will be sold through Shreyans Group who will import the vehicles and will be ready for delivery in July- August this year. The company will launch the car with the first showroom in Mumbai and the second will be ready in New Delhi next year. By 2015, he added, there will be 15 locations across the country. The company"s sale in global market in 2010 was 5675 units and the expectations in the Indian market is 100 units in another three years.

The car will parade along with other show pieces like Quattroporte from Fiat Group (Rs1.23 crore- Rs1.43 crore), GranTurismo for Rs1.20 crore- Rs1.37 crore and GranCabrio for Rs1.43 crore. With its base in Modena, Italy, Maserati is operating its marketing in 63 nations with the US to be the largest one with 2000 units in 2010.
